Crocodile Stitch Tutorial

Hey all! So if you're up to date with baby bootie trends (yes, they have trends), you'll know that crocodile stitch baby booties are hot for tots right now. Most of ones I've seen look like this:

(You can buy the pattern for these exact booties in this Etsy store.)

But I'm more of a DIY kind of girl, and I'm trying to rely less on patterns and more on my own abilities, so I just learned how to do the crocodile stitch. I found the most helpful tutorial on YouTube. It's a picture tutorial, which I find a lot easier to follow than the videos.

After that, I used a basic bootie pattern and added in the crocodile stitch and came up with these beauties!

They're different and unique, and I think they're just adorable. The "scales" are bigger than most I've seen, but I like that about it. I might try a different technique next time to make some smaller ones, but I am so, so pleased with how they turned out.

One of the great things about crochet is that anyone can do it and there are so many wonderful resources on the Internet to help you teach yourself. So go explore the Internet and learn something new. In the meantime, happy hooking, y'all!
